This Privacy Policy explains how Hostled collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the app, the landing site, the AI bill scanner, save points, and related services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of Hostled, and limited technical information needed to secure and operate the service.

  • Account details such as name, email address, and authentication identifiers.
  • Billing-related information handled through payment processors.
  • Content you upload or create, including receipts, PDFs, CSVs, expense records, property names, recurring expenses, notes, and save point metadata.
  • Usage and device data such as browser type, approximate timestamps, logs, and interaction events used for diagnostics and product improvement.

How We Use Information

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • To provide reporting, dashboarding, document processing, save points, and related product features.
  • To detect abuse, enforce plan rules, maintain security, and troubleshoot errors.
  • To process payments, subscriptions, invoices, and account changes.
  • To improve product performance, UX, and feature quality.
  • To communicate service updates, support responses, and essential notices.

Third-Party Services

Hostled may rely on third-party infrastructure and service providers to run core parts of the platform. Depending on the feature, this can include authentication, database and file storage, payment processing, analytics, and email delivery providers. These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers where their own terms apply.

Uploaded Files and Save Points

When you upload receipts, bills, CSVs, or other documents, we store and process them so the product can classify transactions, attach files, and restore save points. Save points may include both structured account data and associated uploaded assets so your account can be restored later.

Local Storage and Session Data

Hostled uses browser storage and session mechanisms to keep you signed in, remember product state, support onboarding behavior, and improve reliability. Disabling some browser storage features may affect core app functionality.

When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers, when required by law, to protect rights or security, during a business transfer, or when you direct us to do so.

How Long We Keep Data

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain backups and account recovery processes. Uploaded files and save points may remain stored until deleted by you, removed through account deletion, or purged under our retention practices.

Protection Measures

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of transmissions or stored data.

Your Options

  • You may update certain account details inside the app.
  • You may remove uploaded records or request account deletion through available product flows.
  • You may choose whether to continue using paid plans and related features.

Children's Privacy

Hostled is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in that age group.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date on this page. Continued use of Hostled after an update becomes effective means the revised Privacy Policy applies to your use of the service.
